Taking STDs Seriously in Thailand

A Cautionary Tale

What’s up, brothers! Today, I’ve got an important topic to discuss, one that’s come up before, but it’s vital enough to revisit: sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). Let’s talk candidly, because not everything that happens in Thailand stays here. Sometimes, unfortunately, you might catch something that sticks with you, for life, a truly unwanted souvenir.

Here’s a real-life cautionary tale. A guy I know visited Thailand a couple of years ago. He did everything right, used protection consistently and took his health seriously. He wasn’t new to the game, knew the risks, and never took unnecessary chances. Yet, after returning home, he noticed something wasn’t right. After seeing a doctor and undergoing tests, he learned he’d contracted herpes. It’s a lifelong condition requiring constant medication to manage outbreaks.

The Details On How This Happened

How did this happen, despite him being careful? Here’s the deal: even though he used protection, it didn’t completely cover everything. The condom didn’t reach all the way down, leaving a small area exposed at the base. That’s exactly where the transmission occurred.

Listen, I’m aware many guys are out here in Thailand raw dog it. No judgment, that’s your choice, but be fully aware of the risks you’re taking. Many women won’t even ask you to use protection; they’re perfectly comfortable fucking without it. If you’re choosing to engage this way, just know you’re playing a dangerous game, like Russian roulette. Spin that cylinder enough times, and sooner or later, you’ll catch the bullet.

If You Do It Do It Right

To those who do take precautions: If you’re going through the trouble of using protection, do it right. Go all the way. Cover everything. Even if you think 90-95% coverage is good enough, it’s not. The difference between partial and total protection can mean the difference between lifelong health and a lifetime battling something you could have avoided.

And let’s talk about the odds for a second. Statistically speaking, your chances of contracting something serious from a single encounter might seem low. I know guys who’ve taken countless risks without major issues. But remember, it only takes one unlucky encounter. The friend I mentioned earlier wasn’t living recklessly; he was careful, but it only took one lapse in full coverage to permanently alter his health and his life.

You Have To Look Out For You

I get it, protection isn’t enjoyable. Trust me, I’ve been there. But the alternative is much worse. Whether you’re here short-term or living the long-term Thailand dream, don’t sabotage your future for a moment of pleasure. Take your health seriously.

So, my advice is simple: Come to Thailand, enjoy yourself, have a blast, but be smart about it. If you choose to be cautious, commit fully. Don’t be partially careful. If you’re not careful, just be fully aware of the potential consequences, some of which are lifelong, others fatal.

Stay smart, stay sharp and most of all stay real.

That’s all I got for today.

It’s your boy JC, peace out.
